Learn the Craft at Aloha Tattoos – Apply for Our Tattoo Apprenticeship

Are you passionate about tattooing and ready to dedicate yourself to learning the craft the right way?

Aloha Tattoos in Murray, Utah is now accepting applications for a tattoo apprentice — and we’re not looking for just anyone. We’re looking for someone who’s hungry to learn, willing to grind, and serious about building a career in tattooing from the ground up.

We’ve spent years building a shop that’s both professional and welcoming, and we want to pass that knowledge on to someone who’s truly ready to step into this sacred tradition.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re offering one highly selective tattoo apprenticeship in Utah. If you’re someone who:

  • Has a strong work ethic and reliable schedule

  • Understands this is a long-term commitment, not a shortcut to tattooing

  • Is creative, humble, and ready to learn

  • Has basic drawing/art skills (preferably a portfolio of artwork)

  • Respects the tattoo industry and its roots

  • Can take direction and handle critique with a growth mindset

…then this could be the opportunity for you.

This is not a “quick start” tattoo apprenticeship. It’s a structured, in-depth mentorship designed to teach you the fundamentals of tattooing: from sanitation and machine setup to design, technique, and client care. You’ll work closely with our artists and gradually earn your way into the craft.

Minimum requirements

  • ✅ Must be 18 years or older

  • Serious commitment to a long-term apprenticeship (12–24 months)

  • Strong work ethic — reliable, punctual, and self-motivated

  • Basic drawing skills and a solid understanding of art fundamentals

  • Portfolio of recent artwork (digital or physical, no AI-generated work)

  • ✅ Willingness to perform non-tattoo duties (cleaning, setup, shop support)

  • ✅ Able to handle constructive feedback and follow direction

  • No prior tattooing experience required, but must have respect for the industry and its history

  • Drama-free attitude — we have zero tolerance for ego or shop politics

  • Flexible availability — including weekends, Holidays, and evenings as needed - we work when the public is off.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with clients

  • ✅ Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, client-focused environment

  • Utah Bloodborne Pathogens certification required within 30 days of starting
